I'm looking for suggestions for learning about the events of May '68 in France, with particular emphasis on the social drives which lead a society that lived in relative material comfort to revolutionary fervor.

Has anyone read Prelude to Revolution: France in May 1968 by Daniel Singer? If so, is it any good?

I was just recommended that book today, actually, as a great read for the events. I've wanted to read more about the situation too, particularly how it influenced later movements (I'm taking on a class on the Autonomists and it was influential for them, I think.)

If you find anything else good, I'd love to check it out.

I bought it last night. After I read it I'll post some comments in this forum.
