I heard of this, here and there while studying the works of Murray Bookchin, could anyone give me a precise definition of what it means, and how it can be applied in regards to theoretical analysis? Any links, and such would also be appreciated, all I have currently is, The Philosophy of Social Ecology: Essays on Dialectical Naturalism, which comes of kind of vague to me, .

I obtained a copy of this book recently, and although I have not read it in detail yet, the philosophical stuff seems little different from the usual guff one reads in anyone who has been influenced by Hegel.

Unless you are really desperate, or have to read this, as I do for my Essays, I'd give it a miss; there seems little in this line of enquiry that will save it from the philosophical knackers yard, especially when I have finished trashing it.

I can't speak of the political aspect of this work since I do not intend to read it.
