the way i see it, there is no difference between a one-party system and a multi-party system. the way i see it, the fewer major parties there are, the broader the span of disagreement there will be within a party. in the US for example, there are only two major parties, so a person could disagree with most of the parties rhetoric and still afilliate themselves with it (and i know the faultfinders are going to say the two US parties are the same, but its just an example). in countries
with more parties, the more specifically the people adhere to its principles. so the way i see it, since theres no difference, you might as well let people call themselves whatever they want.

I sort of agree with a no-party system. Well not no party but more no parties with unhealthy influence. Because In the UK parties are generally there to serve the interests of their members (as in the case of the conservative party) or the interests of the leader (as in the case of the labour party) which doesn't sound that much like democracy. What should happen is that candidates should be there to represent the interests of those they represent and political parties shouldn't matter. As people more local to their area are much more likely to be sympathetic to their interests, small decentralised governments should control desisions on the local level thus making a much more democratic system.

a once party state is an absurdum....party comes from the word pars, wich means part.
i don't like the idea of a one "party" state...

The idea of a one party system is rediculous. Having no opposition and no control over those in charge is going against every principle of democracy. It is important today that the government can be checked by the electorate and their opinions can be registered at elections. A one party state would lead to a dictatorship in that those in charge will not be accountable to anyone.
It is much more important to change the way in which parties are run. No longer should political parties be able to bend the truth and try to score petty points over each other on minor issues. But political parties should represent beliefs that they do not sell out off at any chance to suit their own power mad desire.
A one party state is what is created when power is mis used and corrupted. political parties are there suposidly to represent our beliefs. not everyone has the same belief so many parties are needed so people can show their opionion. Let us not be so ignorant to say that some peoples opionions dont matter.
I do agree however that the current politcal party system is not working for todays society. Let us concerntrate on how to bring the plitical party system into the twenty first century not demolishing it.

a party = a democratic element
a one party system = a undemocratic system.
so a one party-system is a corruptable system, it doesnt do what it is supposed to do.

sure it could work, you make it so there is no leader of the party, and all the reps belong to the party, but the reps are party members thats are voted in, but everyone is a member of the party, this way you have a tru democracy. anyone could lead the country.

Or do you mean that there is just the government, where each member is voted in. But they are not "put into groups" in away. Because there are no parties, just the elected MP's in a sense?

A one-party democracy is a fake democracy. A two-party democracy is pretty bad, but having only one party is no better than having a fascist government.
what makes you think that?
the fact that you read that book about one-party states..........wait a minute, you would know fuck all.
All you can make are slogans and one liners that yopu think you are right with.
You dont back your arguments at all
example:
"A two-party democracy is pretty bad, but having only one party is no better than having a fascist government"
what the fuck?
why?
Thanking you

Well if you mean a one party, one ruler, one stand. The i'd say thatsd bad. What if you disagree with THE party? Who have you got? No one. No one to represent yourself.
