Escape from Freedom

Im reading this book called Escape from Freedom by Eric Fromm it is excellent. Im not quite done but it has to deal with how freedom has shaped the pyschology of modern man and what events triggered man to think and act the way he does. It was written 65 or so years ago but it is still really good.

Very Very True! How many books does Fromm have?

Yeah, I've read several Fromm books. Last time I read him, I was pretty engaged and thoroughly fascinated.

Quite the same thing with me... now im trying to get a collection of his works all togather.


but I'll take Fromm over Freud any day.

I thought that Fromm's "theories" or thoughts were a mixture of Marxist and Freudean but he add the factor of freedom as the central characteristic of human existence.
