If anyone knows any groups in the Toronto area that are looking for members please let me know who they are and a little bit about them.

Thanks for your time.

What kind of "groups" are you looking for?

Well initially I tried to start up a FPM group myself but I was unsuccessful as nobody really wants to commit besides myself which is unfortunate. Mostly I just want to learn more and be more active.

You could check out the Communist League and Young Socialists. No relation to the "Communist League" group in the U.S. whose members post on here.

A couple articles that give some idea what they're involved in and what they stand for:

They probably have some kind of public event every week or so; that'd be one way to check them out more. You could contact 'em and ask when the next one is.

There is a radical bookstore located in Toronto. I'm not sure if they are your flavor, but they're worth giving a shot. Get to know some of the people who volunteer there, or maybe even volunteer there yourself. Ask around, I'm sure there are various political orgs in Toronto.

If you're interested in revolution in education, I believe the Anarchist U operates out of Toronto. My Anarchist Anthropology class used their syllabus as a basis for our explorations and it was really worthwhile.

It's a free school that periodically holds classes on different topics, both political and non-political.

You could (should) also check out the Revolutionary Communist Party. They held a meeting in Toronto this past summer and are attempting to create a permanent support base there. They also held a rather large Congress about a month and a half ago. As for background, they're a MLM group that has denounced Canadian parliamentarism and advocates the need for armed insurrection on the part of the masses, led by a vanguard Communist party.

You could also look into Fightback; the Toronto group is really active and every week they have discussion groups and the like, so if your looking to get active and learn, it's a great group to be in. (Plus, their nice)
