I was rereading a piece by Engels, and I stumbled upon the term "the community of women"
I had seen it b4 in other pieces I've read, but I never really decided to look it up and understand it, laziness I guess

And here is the answer to the outcry of the highly moral philistines against the community of women. Community of women is a condition which belongs entirely to bourgeois society and which today finds its complete expression in prostitution. But prostitution is based on private property and falls with it. Thus, communist society, instead of introducing community of women, in fact abolishes it.

I always thought it meant the way that women give themself up to men in order to enjoy all the material things that men are able to provide (house, money, children,...)
Anyone care to eleborate on it?

Community of women is just that, the holding of women in common. It is a bourgeois institution.

Well, sometimes there is reason to wish for a future anarcho-feminist technocrat lesbian paradise where all women are beautiful and all men have ceased to be

Can u elaborate on that?
And what specific institution is that? Is it present in today's society?

 I always found that bit in the Manifesto hilarious...

Anyway, community of women means holding women in common, in the same manner that property would be held in common in a Communist society. It was an early critiscism of Communists that we wanted to establish this 'community of women' but in fact it only betrays how the beurgeois view women as objects rather than human beings.
