my name is Jon I have been interested in revolution for a long time, but at this time America is not ready for a full blown revolution. So i have been interested in maybe supporting a foreign one where it is more likley to suceed or make change now. So the first place I thought was Mexico, the country of my father where it is corrupt and exploits its people. I have been especially interested in the EZLN because of their non violent actions and sencerity in their beliefs.

I was wondering if somebody who has more expierence and knowledge in revolution and revolutionary groups would know how one would get in contact with the EZLN, unfortunatley being half white and my father wanting me to be "american" he never taught me or my brothers spanish, so looking on their website wasnt much help.

But if you might know of some cotnacts or ways I can help them such as funding, supplying equipment, and such let me know! Or even some more groups in mexico would help!!

Thanks alot!

your revolutionary brother

There's a member here who visited Mexico to help out the EZLN not too long ago. His username is D-Day.

This is the EZLN (http://enlacezapatista.ezln.org.mx/) official website. It is in Spanish, though, so those who aren't familiar with it will have trouble getting around. This is also where you can contact them.

A typical middle-class attitude. You want to support some romantic gun waving revolutionaries in the third world rather than get your hands dirty, and organise in your community. You don't want to 'put the work in' you want to see the changes "now" and if there's no chance of revolution in your neighbourhood right now, then fuck communism, you loose interest and look abroad.

and yet, if you were following the Zapatistas communiqués, and reading their declarations, you'll see that they've got to a point where they are trying to facilitate another international. They are actually begging people all around the world to follow their example, not to send them medical supplies and cash (though it is needed) What you want to do, is the opposite of what they want people to be doing.

The best solidarity you can show the zapatistas is by organising and struggling in your homeland, which, im afraid to say does not involve wearing a beret and waving an AK47. If you want or need any help in actually getting active, as always I'll do what I can to help.

If you submit to EZLN fetishism, and charity work, then your every bit to blame for the absolute dearth of revolutionary activity the US.

Sigh, I suggest you read the Zapatistas 6th declaration (http://www.anarkismo.net/newswire.php?story_id=805) - it's very interesting.
