Absurd rhetoric. Maybe Tom Delay should concentrate on not taking illegal campaign contributions, then he might have a bit of credibility.

Typical scare tactics....
As a matter of fact, just last night I was watching a docu on marketing and the effect that certain words have on ppl
And it talked about a psychologist that advised the Republican party during 2004
Telling them what words to use, what labels to employ, and indicating the trigger words that either motivated or appalled the public
Looks like Delay was testing the waters

Quite an admission, isn't it?
Considering "Marxism" and "Communism" was "destroyed" at the Fall of the Soviet Union, these "marxist" forces are reamerging. I'm actually quite surprised he didn't call it a hotbed of Islamic extremism.
"End of History" my arse.

I heard that Obama was involved in a little scandal of his own in that he was connected with a businessman who had been involved in some political influence peddling.

Shock, gasp! Ossama involved in something illegal and potentially immoral ?

Same goes for Tom Delay, bt with twice the sarcasm.

Yeah..

"We often react to party labels rather than to the actual proposals which are put before us. This was demonstrated very clearly in a study in which farmers and workers in the United States were interviewed with respect to their voting intentions, their party preferences, and their approval or disapproval of various lines of action. They were found to disapprove of Socialist and Communist parties and candidates, and yet approve of the measures proposed by these parties rather more than those proposed by their more conservative opponents. When it is a question of election, therefore, these people would have voted against the measures which they actually favoured because of their stereotyped view of Socialism."

That's a brilliant little paragraph CDL, thanks a lot. It really succintly manages to summarises a lot of what I've felt unconsciously about the 'brain-washing' techniques of US society, culture, media and education.

I have met Tom DeLay. He's a real asshole.

He tried to shake my hand, but I refused. (Tom DeLay used to be the congressman from my district).

Barack Obama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama)

Still a lacky to the system but a hell of a lot better than Hillary IMO.

What he has on his side is that he wasn't in congress to vote for the war but says he was against it anyway.
