99 Red Balloons that's Heavy Metal in German?

OK, I got into a debate over "99 Red Balloons" whether it would be better in German or English, and as it was originally (as '80s music) or heavy metal (or at least something like Reel Big Fish's version of it).

Is there a heavy metal German version of it? No one I spoke to knew if there was or not.

What the hell? Ther best verion of the song is by a very long was the origional Luftballon by Nena, the next best version is the English version by Nena entitled 99 Red Balloons.

In my opinion after that the best version is Goldfingers version - but it is very much down the line from being any where near as good as the first two. However it does have German verse - so perhaps you can base your comparison on that.

The nena german version is the best.

I once did a cover of 99 luftaballoons at school and got full marks for the assignment.
