This problem is far too widespread. Often it is fueled by religious bigotry, as in this example, and it always rests on a notion that homosexuality is either a 'choice' or a 'genetic condition' that can be variously simply changed or, more worryingly, "cured". It doesn't help that prominent psycologists have, in the past and even today, lent creedance to this idea. This group of cretinous, god-bothering morons can fuck off and die.

Wow, that is frightening. At first glance it looks like one of those satirical joke sites, then I realized they were serious. "Freedom is Possible!" :/

'People think it's a mental illness' (http://www.guardian.co.uk/gayrights/story/0,,1796185,00.html)

This "idea" nearly always springs from religion, be it Christianity or Islam.

Well it's the oft raised point of religion's "moral framework".

Every time an atheist argues with a religious person they point out that their morality is based on god. Not only is this point stupid but it also indicates exactly why they lend any creedance to these claims.

God told them, or more specifically whoever reads them their book and tells them how to interpret it told them. Without religion it's a hell of a lot harder to be homophobic - but not impossible. A lot of people for example start to argue that it isn't natural - which is of course false (as has been discussed many times on this site.).

For the most part howver pawn power is right, this is yet another example of the harm of religion.

It is one delusion leading on to the next.

i dont et it, if people see how stupid religion is why do they keep on beliving? they see all it does is divide and say no it doesnt, its like ignoring the gorilla in the living room hoping it will go away. it wont go away it will only get worse if you dont stand up act and say that this is stupidity and should be stopped.

They continue believing because they think their religion is different. Where all the other religions are the cause of the worlds problems theirs is the one true way. It's a lot of shite, but people like to cling to it, especially as capitalism has created so much despair in them and the world.
