The latest poll has Quebec Solidaire -- an alliance of communists, feminists, democratic socialists, and left-wing anarchists -- at 7%. While this is progress, it still means that 90% of Quebeckers prefer neo-liberal Cokeheads (Andre Boisclair), over-charismatic far-rightists (Mario Dumont), and Jean Charest...Still, by Canada's embarrasingly low standards, this actually qualifies as an accomplishment.

Maybe some day they'll even win seats on the Mont Royal plateau, Montreal's gay village, and the ultra-separatist East end of Montreal Island (generally a hotbed for the more left-leaning components of the bourgeois sovereigntist parties).
