uhm, no. Rasputin was an oppertunist, who simply played his role in the destruction of the feudal aristocracy, but so did Nikie himself. Was he a socialist? Hell no.

I advise you to read:

RASPUTIN?!

He was no socialist!

He didn't aid the revolution, to my knowledge...he was the Tsarina's "aide"...she was basically under his control. The guy was murdered by the Tsarevich and his mates at a party. The guy took a long time to die. They fed him poisoned cakes. He kept going. They shot him, so he chased them. They pushed him into the icy river, but he jumped out again. They shoved him in again and forced him under with a stick. Then he finally got the message and died.

Rasputin wasn't a socialist, he was a regular guy who was said to have "magical powers". The royal families youngest child (I forgot his name) suffered from hemorages and no doctor was able to cure him, so the Czars appointed Rasputin to do something about it. Of course it ended up in deception and betrayal.

Rasputin was not a socialist at all.He just made a few friends in the imperial palace by claming to be a healer and that he could heal the tsars son who had haemophilia. The Tsarinia was compleatly convinced of his "powers" and when the Tsar was at the war front he actually ran the country untill the tsars return,he appointed many of his drinking buddies into vital government positions.

He was definetly not a socialist & played no part in the revolution as he died before it even happened.

Prince Felix had Rasputin murdered in December of 1916 at his palice. He was murdered because he was a madman who had the Tzar following all of his bad advice.

Rasputin however, was no socialist. He was quite far from it. He had a great relasionship with the royal family, and there is not even a hint of him having contact with common people, much less the likes of Lenin.

You could argue that he indirectly influenced the course of the Russian Revolution as his influence and decision making over the Tsar caused him to make very bad decisions and have low confidence and support from the people which allowed the Bolsheviks to channel the people's frustrations for the overthrow of the monarchy and hence revolution.

I've heard some people in my countery say that what we need for the workers to wake up is another (and perhaps worse) Great Depression.... so you probobly aren't too far off from that lot, however Rasputin was not in the habit of making things bad for the people so they would rise up... rather he was indifferent about them.

Yeah I know, RC, I just had to say something! Rasputin's the kind of guy who would be fascinating except he's not, for some reason I just don't care what he did, it all seems so irrelevant!

i didn't think he'd be a socialist..or a conspiritor, but you never know if Lenin had some friends in siberia....But i think that is the best way to take down an oppressive government....get they're closest people on yourside...then have them screw up paperwork, and tell the prez its cool to raise taxes, and have the people notice what a bad job the government is doing.

The revolution will break out. It's just a mather of time.

Let me support it by this.

Thanks to a lot of privatising laws, things turned expensiver, bringing more profit to the wealthy class and biggen the gap between rich and poor. Recently the economic crisis has contributed a lot in this proces.

After a while this situation will be so bad, that a few people will litterly own complete nations, just like now but more obvious. The rights of the proletarian will be more reduced and the rights of the elite increased. All under the name of "state-security", "patriotic act" etc.

This proces is like a bomb. Getting stronger by every unjust and when exploding vagueing away the complete elite.

Our main concern should be that it doesn't get replaced by another "elite" who would set up a "temporarly government" in the name of the "revolution" or people" or somekind. History has proven often that this happens, France 1789, China recent years, etc.

Rasputin wasn't a socialist, and played no part in the actual revolution.

what he did do was gain almost complete control of russia through the tsarina while the tsar was supposedly at the front line sorting out his mistakes from before.

Rasputin advised the tsarina badly, putting his drinking and orgy pals into high positions etc this only boosted the growing concern and dislike for the tsar. Which in turn led the people to support the socialist parties.

Had to put my pennys worth in this, because this is the section i loved most of my history course last year, whether that meant i got good marks is a different story which will be answered next week, finally.

The revolutionarries hated Rasputin, they captured one of the Russian nobles who murdered him and when they found out who he was they told him they'd let him and his family go into exile in Britain instead of killing them.
