I am currently reading Republic and am curious what other people have to say about the definition of justice whether it is better be just than unjust.

I assume you are speaking of Thrasymachus' argument that it is better for one to be unjust than just. I for one agree that justice is socially and historically contingent, and therefore only the benefit of the powerful.
