Ever noticed Trotsky was the only jew in Lenin's 1st Governement? He didnt killed them, but at least, they werent so near of his heart...

Can we count this in antisemitism?

Or maybe Lenin didn't care whether or not someone was a jew and only the best people formed the government?

Lenin's Maternal Grandmother was jewish, and he may have had some more elsewhere in his family tree, so to say that Trotsky is the only Jew in Lenin's Government is stupid as the head of Gov't was himself of jewish decent.

they werent so near of his heart...

That's like claiming he didn't love his Nan mate, that is low!!!

No I dont think there is any anti-semitism in the situation you described.

There were 8 members of the the 1st Central Committee (Lenin, Kamenev, Krestinsky, Stalin and Trotsky were full members, Bukharin, Zinoviev and Kalinin - candidate members), and there were 1 and a bit jews, that sounds proportional to what Russia was at the time but I may be dead wrong. Now, El Barbudo, don't you create a more pertinent thread about rampant sexism in the selection process to choose members of the Central Committee!? ;)

I'm not the first one to say that this is avery stupid question. It's not antisemitism because there only were one jew in the council or whatever they called it.

It's like that it is not sexism because they aren't as many women firefighters. Perhaps women don't want to be firefighters as much as men want to.

I hope you see me point!

No UR it will not die. Lenin did not mind the Jews. It was post-Stalin leaders that made anti-semiticism national policy.

agrees with levtrotsky

Leinin outlawed anti-semitism.
While stalin destroyed jewish cultural life, rounding up yiddish poets and wrters etc dealing a huge blow to a community struggling to reassert iself after ww2

Reuben why do you repeat this lie that Stalin was a anti-semite?

There is a thread in this very forum which discusses this claim and in that you failed to provide any evidence what so ever to support such a claim. Infact all the evidence is contray to what is a ridiculious belief.

So either stop repeating this lie or continue the discussion in the above mentioned thread. Fair enough no?

As for the originall thread. 'Stupid' just about covers it.

I agree with Cassius. It is ridiculous to accuse either Lenin or Stalin of being anti-semitist.

I hope everyone here knows that MARX himself was a Jew. Lenin and Stalin both followed Marx. So how in the world is any self-proclaimed Marxist possibly an anti-semite?

I believe there were many Chinese and blacks that helped out with the politburo, but I may be wrong. No Communist is racist, and it is ridiculous to accuse one of it.

Ye but i do not consider stalin a communist since he failed to deliver any mechanisms by which the proletariat as a whole could control the means of produciton.

Cassius, i have in the past presented evidence but you have simply dismissedmy facyts as lies.

What would be your explanation for the purging of doctors on the basis of their ethnicity or o the treatment of the tjewish peoples anti-fascist committee a body o ardent communists and ardent stalinists set up by stalin which had served the soviet union during ww2. Why was iot that in the so called 'jewsh semi-autonomous oblast' of biriobidzhan all yiddish/jewish institutions were sht down or fucked up othger than the newspaper

Lenin was if anythign pro-Jewish, he had Jewish ancestry and spoke of Jews as a specially gifted people or "plemya". In a conversation with Maxim Gorky he said "a bright Russian is almost always a Jew or a person with Jewish ancestry." He was far from being an anti semite and often spoke fondly of Jews, "they made up nearly half of the revolutionaries in the regions of southern Russia."

Reuben all the evidence is in that thread. What you are doing above is delibaretly misinterpretating what happened, anyway I will not continue this discussion in this thread. If you have any actual real evidence to back up your claim then go there and post it. Also you could refute the numerous sources I provided which are hardly from a pro-Stalin point of view.

Jews were actually over represented in the Bolshevik government. To accuse the Bolsheviks of anti-semitism is ludicrous.

In fact, Lenin and Stalin are actually the only two non-Jews I can think of from the original Bolshevikk government.
