Welcome to the board Comrade !

I have a basic understanding of what you need to know, but I'll let someone with more knowledge answer your question.

Why don't you just look up some info on Google ?

Welcome to the board, here is a brief summary of the info you need.

Bolsheviks: Bolshevik is Russian for "majority," and describes the faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party led by V.I. Lenin. The term is derived from the second congress of the RSDLP, held in Belgium in 1903, at which Lenin was able to convince the majority to support him as the leader of the party. The Bolsheviks believed in limited Party membership comprised of professional, full-time revolutionaries striving to achieve higher power for the people. They refused to cooperate with burgeois democratic governments or republics, or even other socialist organizations, because they strived for the good of their own people. After the revolution, the Bolsheviks dropped their name and became known, simply, as the Communist Party.

Mensheviks: Menshevik is Russian for "minority." Also formed in Belgium at the second congress of the RSDLP in 1903, this party was comprised of peoples not following Lenin. The Mensheviks believed in an open-party, Western influenced socialist party. Also, unlike the Bolsheviks, the Mensheviks wanted international ties, which would leave less room for the people. Leon Trotsky was initially a member of the Mensheviks, but led most of the party to the Bolshevik side right before the Russian Revolution.

Kadets: Kadets were members of the Russian Constitutional Democratic Party. Founded in 1905, the Kadets promoted a Capitalistic government that would boast a United Kingdom type democracy. They were increasingly overshadowed by other groups, mainly the Bolsheviks, so that the party only recieved 5% of the vote at the Constituent Assembly.

SRs: SRs is just an abbreviation for Socialist Revolutionaries. In 1896 the Union of Socialist Revolutionaries was formed. This organization was short lived, when in the early 1900s, the party began to dissolve in to groups that would later become the Mensheviks and Bolsheviks. Although, during the Constituent Assembly, the small faction left recieved a good deal of the vote.

Primus I would like to make a small correction to your summary if I may. In your summary you say that the Bolsheviks refused to cooperate with the Burgeois governments. It was the Bolshevik wing of the Social Democrat party who argued for running canidates in the Duma, it was the Mensheviks who oposed such measures, kind of weird given Lenin's rhetoric.

Kadets are called that because of their initials in Russian, KD (I think), or 'kah deh'.
