This is a question about two types of situations I've seen in my city. here is the first one.
There's this Thai restaurant I like a lot. It's small and the prices are really good. I'm a regular there getting take out food and such. anyways It's own by this family of 6. and all 6 of then work there.
The Dad and the Son Cook
The Mom and the Son's Wife take food orders and serve it and such.
The sister cleans up and stuff
and the grandson does the deliveries.
I don't know how they get paid. But I'm sure the Dad or the Son are like "the bosses"
They all seem like nice people and proud of their little restaurant, always smiling and give you such a great services and are thankful.
MY QUESTION is what would be of this restaurant in a socialist state? How would this family live if they actually like to do this for a living? Is it just as bad to have your own family as your "wage laborer?" I get a feel they all live in the same house because they all jump in a van to go home.
Are they all "bourgeoisie or petty-bourgeoise?

AND SECOND!--- My friend JJ was tired of working for the studio because of the shitty pay. So he decided to try and open up his own studio! He was denied bank loans everywhere. He found some old abandon workshop that the owner wanted to get rid off. My friend JJ offered the guy 5,000 dollars and the guy took it and gave him the property. It took him close to 2 years to redo the entire place, walls, ceilings, flooring, insolation, and all He is a pretty good carpenter and handyman. plus the guy loves to work with his hands.
some weekends he would have a Keg of beer, blast some tunes and some snacks there and would invite us to come hang and Help out with the studio if we wanted to. Some of us as friends we helped out and well Is safe to say we helped with 5% of the studio construction and he said once he is up an running we can use it for free, since he has no money to pay us for helping him out.
Im quite proud of him and what he has accomplished. He's studio is now running and he brings in bands he loves and records them and makes good music with them. he doesn't have any employees he pretty much runs around with his head cut off haha. wearing all kinds of hats, from goffer, engineer, receptionist and janitor"
I know obviously his ultimate goal is probably make more money and expand business so that he dont have to work so damn hard. and hire a couple of people.
But what if he never really gets to that stage? and just likes it the way he has it now?
AND THEN.. SOCIALISM COMES IN... WILL THEY TAKE HIS STUDIO? how would his statues or situation change? I personally dont know and I would hate to be the one to tell this guy who built his studio on his own that he has to give it up and go work in a farm or i dunno. what do you guys think?
