RESURGENT LATIN AMERICA
New Socialist Magazine Launch

Join us for a discussion on the important popular struggles gripping Latin America today as we launch our new “Latin America Resurgent” issue.
SPEAKERS:
Jasmin Hristov is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at York University. She will be speaking on the paramilitarization of the Colombian state. Her writing has appeared in The Journal of Peasant Studies, Social Justice, Journal of Peacebuilding and Development, and Latin American Perspectives.
Leandro Vergara-Camus will speak on the dramatic developments in Mexico. He is a PhD candidate in the department of Political Science at York University and teaches at York and McMaster universities. He is also a member of the Latin American Solidarity Committee (LASC) and Bolivarian Cirlce Manuelita Saenz of Toronto.
Jeffery R. Webber will speak on Venezuela and Bolivia. He is an editor of New Socialist, a PhD candidate in political science at the University of Toronto, and a member of the Latin American Solidarity Committee (LASC). His writings have appeared in numerous Left journals and magazines.
