I already know Trotsky had a big influence in the Russian Rev, but could someone give me some basic information about his role in it?

He led the Red Army to victory. The General and military mastermind.

I suggest reading The Red Revolution by Leon Trotsky for more infomation. I have read the intro, it seems pretty good.

What is this other book you are referring to?

Go to Marists.org or something similar or search Marx on Google. They have a large amount of his writings there about all things. Check it out.
