Look at the U.S. civil liberties score compared to other countries in the Top 50. Still...Venezuela should be #1 in every category.

Why is Cuba considered an "Authoritarian regime"?

Why is Cuba considered an "Authoritarian regime"?
Because it has a big military and it's has a parliment that exists as a arm of Castro's power. Also, because the US hates it and what the US says goes.

I seriously doubt any 'democratic' country is truly that.

You shouldn't even bother to read that liberal bullshit. Those who claim that Sweden is the world's most democratic country are either ignorant and/or unaware of the current political situation in Sweden, or are just plain stupid. Or both.
Since a majority of the swedes according to recent opinion polls doesn't support the current ruling liberal-conservative party coalition, the Kingdom of Sweden (ah, Sweden is by the way a fucking kingdom! I didn't vote for any king... <_<) is actually a dictatorship. The "leftist" coalition, led by the Social Democrats who lost in the elections in september this year, actually has greater popular support than the ruling rightists. "Democrazy" in a nutshell.
But then again, we all know (or should know) that modern western democracy is bullshit and should be worked against in favour of a future class- and nationless society.

Actually, it is my understanding that Cuba is an authoritarian regime.

The most important question here is what is the class nature of those democracies? The USA, for example, has democracy for the bourgeoisie, while at the same time, it exerts dictatorship over the proletariat. People should understand that American democracy was founded on collective rule for the whole bourgeoisie, resting on the enslavement of Black people, the genocide of Native people, and the oppression of women. America has dead a great deal of democracy... for the bourgeosie.
The flip-side is true for socialist countries. They have democracy for the proletariat, while dictatorship is exerted over the capitalist class.

Well, that's helpful. You tell me I am wrong without an explanation. I am probably using the phrase "authoritarian regime" improperly. However, substitute it for "undemocratic."
How is Cuba democratic?

The ignorance you speak is yours alone. This observation is supported by your lack of understanding what "the kingdom of Sweden" means within Sweden's democratic process.
Wake up from your Hollywood, Danny Kaye dream-world. Read up on Sweden before you make such childish remarks. OK?
