theres no way it couldnt be an AK-47 or variant, its the most producted gun ever! plus just with an AK-47 people see a symbol of rebellion. AK-47s arent just guns, they're a symbol

I know it isn't a gun, but the Molotov Cocktail is, for me, the weapon of revolution and of the oppressed.
It could be a gun. In Che's "Guerilla Warfare" book he explains, with diagrams, how to create a Molotov Cocktail gun!

I happen to have been reading about said gun inventor yesterday.
Ah well, the Avtomat Kalashnikov has taken more innocent good people's lives than any other gun in history, but the reason some revolutionaries refer to it as "gun of the revolution" is because it's very easy to clean, doesn't jam as much and is fast firing, if not all that accurate. Good for soldiers who are not as well trained as they are in a professional killer army.
Mikhail Kalashnikov is an interesting fellow, he invented the gun in 1947, of course, when after he suffered injuries in the Great Patriotic War, and comrades told him lives could have been saved if they had guns that did not jam as much:

PS: The AK74 is better;)

perhaps the gun is a symbol, but it really is unimportant with what weapon the revolution is to be fought with. just as long that the people is ready and the revolution is for that very same people.
but i'm on the molotov side, still...

the AK is probably the worlds most reliable firearm. it will probably be the mainstay of the guerilla factions.
if they weren't so expensive, i would suggest the highly acclaimed german g series, or any other H&K firearm.

You can fully submerge an AK-47 in mud or water, pull it out and use it to full capacity straight away. Is that cool or what?

For urban fighting there's nothing like a molotov.
I think we need elphants with monkeys mounted on their backs, with slingshots that shoot mosquitoes infected with Japanese encephalitis.

its molotov cocktail launcher. The Cubans were ghetto and couldn't get flamethrowers and many rocket launchers. But since Molotov cocktails are easy to get and make, they just worked on a way to project them further.(kind of like a rocket), i read the book a while ago ,but i think he adding some wood or something on top of the cocktail and then shoots it out of a shotgun.(but doesn't use bullets or anything, since that would result it in blowing up in his face).
Bloody hell, I don't remember posting that crap about elephants with monkeys
Sorry guys, back to the proper topic....

I think that the AK-74 isnt that humane of a weapon. have you seen what a bullet can do in that gellitan shit, the Afghans were terrified of that shit when they were fighting the USSR. unless its the AKSU-74 that is only a foot long, that is okay, but not the full size 74, im an AK-47 supporter all the way

The Air Force has had me clean and reassemble AK47s and I must admit that it is a great weapon. It's so much simpler than our rifles and it would probably last forever if taken care of properly. I do believe that you sacrifice accuracy for reliability though. Having fired both I'd say personnaly that I prefer the M16A2 for long range fire, but prefer the AK for close quarters fire. Some people are just never happy, I guess.

The AK-74 is better.
It's got longer range and is lighter, but the only real downside is that the magazines are bright orange and easier to see than the metal magazines of the AK-47. I suppose you could paint them black or something for camouflage purposes.

It's been the standard Russian assault rifle since the late 70's, I believe.
