Yahoo World News: General Pinochet suffers heart attack. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061203/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/chile_pinochet)

At 91, the General is an old and frail man.

Lets hope the heart condition only gets more painful and more worse.

On the topic of Pinochet, I knew someone, a guy actually, who though opposed what Pinochet stood for and his crimes, thought he was good looking and sexy.

I'm not joking either, this guy (he is my age 23) had thing for older men like Brando and Sinatra.

Brilliant. It seems all of history's shits are dying out - Milton Friedman snuffed it the other day too. Hope Thatcher is next to die horribly.

Strange how they seem to be dying of heart problems, it's deliciously ironic.

It's nature's way of trying to prove they all had hearts.

But I won't be convinced until I'm eating heart and chips.

Report: Pinochet to undergo heart bypass 17 minutes ago

Gen. Augusto Pinochet, the Chilean dictator whose regime was responsible for widespread killings and other abuses, suffered a heart attack Sunday and state television said he was expected to undergo bypass surgery.

The decision by doctors treating the former leader came after he received an emergency angioplasty that his son said "virtually rescued him from death."

Pinochet has required a pacemaker for several years.

Oh great, the despot is to be saved via heart bypass surgery...Just let the bastard die already instead of wasting money, time, and resources on a man who deserves the firing squad, when that surgery could be used to save some poor person actually in need of a heart treatment.

YAY!!! Its symbolic, really. On the day of Venezuela's elections that will lead to a new future for all of Latin America, the vestiges of the old order are dying out painfully. Hope he's writhing in pain right now.

I bet even as he lies dying, he has not a single shred of remorse for his actions, so good riddance to him.

At 91, he's survived for quite a long time, way too long. I think many people feel cheated by his escape from prosecution and now this.
