Unless you're proposing that Venezuela is a "more trusted ally" of the US than Saudia Arabia? 'Cause it seems to me that Chavez would have a few things to say about such a suggestion.

That's nice, but wouldn't the average American ignorant of political affairs and of the outside answer this question in terms of what the media tells them to think about a regime rather than in terms of the regime's actual relationship with Washington?

Probably, but on this question the media is actually fairly honest.

Obviously the American rulling class isn't eager to say why they are so despised by countries like Venezuela, but they have absolutely no motivation to hide that they aren't on the friendliest terms.

Indeed, having definable "enemies" is a fundamental part of their foreign policy agenda.

So when Americans are asked which governments dislike their country, they have a fairly good idea. They generally don't understand the complexities that underly it, but they can still rattle of an accurate list of "enemies".

Saudia Arabia is a much closer ally of the United States than Venezuela. And your getting mad at Americans for recognizing this fact is incredibly ...bizarre.
