Dear comrades,
I am a Turk who is concerned about the Imperialist acts inside his nation. I know that there are other Turkish members in this website but I wanted to show the damage the capitalists caused in my nation.
My nation is reknowned because of its youth and its revolutionist army. Unfortunately, the army became a branch of the American forces in the Middle-East and the rulers were enslaved by this gigantic force led by imperialists. Our soldiers weren't the ones to blame because they weren't mercenaries (unlike the soldiers of Uncle Sam) and according to Turkish traditions, a soldier has to do what he is ordered to do (if he doesn't he'll be dishonored). The only hope was the youth of the previous generation. Seeing that fact, the imperialist secret organizations such as CIA and MI7 divided our youth into two groups: the left-wingers and the wolven warriors.
The Turkish left-wingers were always independent because they had Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his address to the Turkish youth behind them. After he died, they started a battle for survival because everyone in our nation wanted to destroy them. One such person, Ismet Inonu was (if the goverment's books are correct...yeah right...) a comrade of Ataturk (!) during our war of independence against British, French imperialists and their Greek and Armenian allies. Yet after Ataturk died, he seized power and became an admirer of the Allied block. He arrested the legendary poet NAZIM HIKMET and many more supporters of our cause in order to slow down the Greek sympathy among the Allied ranks. He was overthrown by BULENT ECEVIT who died just a couple of weeks ago but even that didn't stop the imperialists from expanding.
The early Ecevit era wasn't a complete disaster. The workers gained more rights, the Kurds were allowed to become miners, our economy was independent etc. but Ecevit himself was a graduate of Robert College in Turkey, an American missionary school established to assimilate Turkish youth. Therefore, he was a nationalist (????) but he sometimes bowed before the Yankees which attracted the attention of TKP (TURKIYE KOMUNIST PARTISI (Turkish Communist Party)).
After the early era of Ecevit, things went competely wrong. University students were arrested without reasons, the regional leaders of TKP were slaughtered in public and assassinations of political figures increased. A student of that era, Deniz Gezmis started a nationwide rebellion which he called "The Second War of Independence". The Turkish students started to capture American officers, sabotage the buildings of their brands and bases and steal their weapons to use aginst them. Eventually, they became our heroes but Deniz Gezmis and his 17 friends were caught and arrested in 1972 and executed a day after they were caught. Deniz Gezmis was 24,5 years old when he was executed. The worst thing is, he died painfully: when was very tall and when he was hanged, his feet were barely able to touch the chair under him, he battled until he died.
After the army entered the capital in 1980, the Americans started to play cancan on our lands. Their influence increased, the Jews in our nation started to serve Israel and our economy became the main supply source of the IMF. That's why General Willingston reported this news to the president as: "Yes sir, it's all over... OUR BOYS did it." . WHEN did their wives started to give birth to Turkish children??? (don't answer, the irony is understood) We became THEIR BOYS!!! That's right, an army that spread fear into the imperialists' hearts had become the favorite nephew of Uncle Sam and our youth stead still.
Even after we opened our customs to Europe, the youth and the folk were simply watching. There were patriots and communists but they preferred to hide to seek a better chance to get their revenge but that chance never came. We just watched them seperate the Turks and the Kurds, kill left-winged journalists (may Ugur Mumcu and Necip Hablemitoglu rest in peace) destroy our income and rape young girls in Incirlik.
At long last, newspapers like TURKSOLU (Turkish Left-Wing), Leman, Yeni Harman and Yenicag (which is a fascist newspaper but they hate the government too) started to be printed in the 21st century, after the new Euro-Dollar-Islamic Government under Recep Tayyip Erdogan seized power. This was the first "Wave of Revolution" (quoted from Attila Ilhan) and the people showed that it was by protesting the government whenever they had the chance.
Yet the youth in Istanbul hasn't awaken yet. I am a high-school student in a foreign school in Istanbul and I am quadralangual (I am able to speak 4 languages with 5 different dialects) but I see that the cultured Turkish teenagers around me aren't as patriotic as I am and I believe that we need their help in order to launch a revolution because they'll hold the strings. When I fight with them or argue with them I always think of the old Roman proverb: "The alliance with the powerful is never trusted". They still have no idea what the Americans are doing near our south-eastern borders because they don't want to learn. They think that if Turkey's destroyed, they'll flee to the USA because their parents are really wealthy. WELL, MY PARENTS AREN'T!!! Scholarship doesn't give you another life and besides, you won't be able to smell the salty water of the Bosphorus again... They don't appreciate such natural monuments.
I have given all the information you need on the revolutionist Turkish Youth and the short life of our beautiful Republic of Turkey. Now, I would like to request something from you, lords of the Yankee-free minds. Would you be interested in helping me and my comrades in developing a left-winged foundation for our youth? We aren't supported by most of the legal foundations and the ones that are willing to help us are either illegal (tracked by the cops) or blockaded by other legal foundations (such as TURKSOLU and TURAN.ORG).
