Hi everyone. This is Dave from northeast Philadelphia. i've been watching these forums for some time now with great interest but lately they've become even more relevant.

i used to call myself a Leninist but i'm afraid i can't really categorize myself anymore for the convenience of everyone who might read this. A broken collage of art, science, mathematics, philosophy, literature and coffee shop discussions have shaped the way i interpret things since then. Things are too complex and transitory these days to subscribe to any rigid ideology anyway.

There are a few things i am sure of though. i see the victims of media brainwashing, consumerism, wage slavery, rotten educations and low expectations, senseless violence and a general idiot culture trudging through their lives every single day. i know we have so much more potential than that. There's a lot going on outside of the states that would probably make the neighborhood i live in look like papradise too.

So yeah. Hopefully i won't make a fool of myself and even learn a little.

Nice to meet you all.

hey, I set up a discussion thing in the politics section on communism in different countries - but all leftist views are welcome. If you wanna say anything about communism in the US feel free to say there. I've read everyones replys so far and it's really interesting.

thanks.
