hey there. I just want a good explination on each and every one of the soviet unions heads of states or party chancellors' on what they did economically to shape the country up, or to lead it towards socialism. I want to know about collective farms, and about the 5 year plans. all this stuff.
the pros and the cons. I want to determined for my self what happened and make my own assumptions. instead of hearing all this pro and anti stalin crap.

You might want to look into the economic history of the soviet union, it sounds like what you are looking for. I don't know any as such off the top of my head, but here (http://www.google.com/search?q=economic+history+of+soviet+union&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial) is a google search that gives good results.

You can find a wealth of information from different perspectives here. (http://marx.org/subject/ussr/index.htm)

Be sure to research, fact check, and look at multiple sources, because anything you find is going to come from one outlook or another. There is no "neutral history of the USSR".

Good luck.

This is especially true if your book contains the phrase "Transition Economy"!

My favorite book on the subject is Heroic Struggle Bitter Defeat. I have seen it for about 4 bucks Canadian on used book sites. It breaks down soviet economic history by different models of socialism: War Communism, NEP, Rapid industrialization, etc etc
