Seeing as the word wasn't coined until 1641 -- and then to describe Christians -- I submit the question is essentially meaningless.

To say that someone else has "charisma" is just to excuse your own willingness to blindly worship another human being.

Rather like that turd Albert Speer, who excused his own war crimes by claiming he was "blinded by Hitler's genius".

What a load of crap.

Apparently Karensky was very charismatic, or at least a great orator. A journalist who covered many of his, Lenin's, Trotsky's, Hitler's and Mussolini's speeches said Kerensky was the best orator. It's only one persons opnion, but I thought it was a interesting bit of information on a man who is usually ignored by the history books (beyond the fact that he was deposed).

it's a new choice:-D ! But if he was so charismatic ,the bolshevik revolution wouldn't win!isn't it?

damn the capitalism, by that logic hitler shouldnt have been attacked, because he was a good speaker. You think the Bolsheviks would be so captivated by Karenskys charms that would lose the will to stage a coup?

yes but since hitler came to the power at 1933 till 1942 ,he was loved by the germans and all the peoples found his speeches very charismatic ,so his peoples and his nazi party began to protest against him when he began to collapse on both eastern and western front,so it got nothing to do with his charisma!
when his regime and his systeme in the war began to collapse the peoples forgot his charismatic person because he put his country in a big danger!
but before the war all the germans or most of them appreciated him and found him charismatic!
this was the same case for kerensky but the fact that kerensky idn't sit for a long while into power ,coz his regime was falling and his administration was a bourgeoisiste one and didn't help the protesters and the workers and peasents ,so they found this would become true if lenin would come to power!in the same time his country was going through the first war and they were always loosing!
so hitler i think was so charismatic but untill the war,!

i would say che, and then probally hilter.

I think charisma isn't really listening to someone blindly, i think its just saying what they say more seriously then if someone else said it.

I think che and Hilter both had this type of charisma, something that made people want to pay attention to what they were saying, doesn't mean they agree but they just listened and wanted to talk to them.

I think Che is the most charasmatic cause he looked pretty good without the beard ;) No, he looked really nice and he looked like you could trust him, you know.
I think Hitler is the last person on earth I would think of bij hearing the world charismatic. I still have to try not to throw up when I see an old picture of him.

Hitler, Malcolm X, Castro, Mussolini.......

Maybe Mussolini the most. For an idiot such as him, with his crazy and laughable policies, to remain in power for over 20 years must have taken some charisma!

I don't know. Che's voice didn't really do it for me. And Fidel does this funny thing with his lips..... in the small bit of footage that I've seen. But Hitler was a sissy, I could smack him around like my *****.
like the way Fidel speaks, so I'll go with him for today :)

i think that looking back today, it would be a tie between Fidel and Hitler, their public speeches were so infuencial. they seem similair during speeches when i look at them, both rapidly move their arms, but fidel points his finger, and Hitler bangs his fist on the podium. but usually fidel starts out speaking and then shouts and ends it in a normal voice again, Hitler on the other hand just yells through the whole damn thing, Do you guys think that one of these guys may have accidentially hit themselvs while swinging their hands during a speech?

I don't think that's it is a proces which can be controlled much.

It's something that goes naturally, onnoticed and onstopped.

Same thing as breathing, I myself don't try to judge someone on looks, voice etc. when I am looking to a political person. But probally I do get influenced by those factors.

I agree, CCCP, one can disagree with the principle of personality politics all one likes, but in the end we're all succeptible to it. Maybe that's why it's so unsettling to see people vote for charismatic leaders that are bad for them, because deep in side most of us have soft spots for less than perfect people. After all, people are never perfect.

Che worship, anyone?

There was this thing called Trudeaumania that swept Canada. I have heard my mom talk about being at Trudeau's speeches in Montréal, and have seen footage of them. You want charisma look at Trudeau. He so much he made many people sick of him because of it.

I would say that Martin Luthur King in my opinion was the most charismatic or Malcolm X both v charismatic! Although Malcolm X was more so when played by Denzel Washington!
