Soviet union seemed to encourage many different nations to become socialist countries, but how come china doesn't do it at that level?

Because they are Capitalists comrade would be the short answer. Infact unlike in the west where atleast workers have some 'rights' working in modern day China for most would be like working in 1880's East End Factory in London.
Make no mistake about it though, China will confront the U$A, but not under the banner of socialism but in much the same way Germany challenged the British Empire in 1914. Such is Capitalism's inevitable falling out and disagreements over who get's the largest share of the pie.

The hardliners here also nearly shat themselves when the Soviet Union collapsed. The only reason for Tiananmen was that they were scared that China would disentagrate in the same way they saw the Soviet Union was beginning to fall apart.
There is one thing on their minds and that is staying in power and avoiding revolution and total chaos in China, which is what would happen if the authority of the party were to erode at this point. They just can't afford to fuck with the U.S.
However.....
A lot of Chinese people tell me they are biding their time. In 20 years the ecnomy here will be bigger than in the U.S., and everyone fully expects the Communist Party to start building a huge and advanced army at that point.
The balance of power is more important to China right now than staying loyal to Socialist ideology, but I'm not sure they can pull off their grand plan for shifting the balance of power in the world and then trying to achieve socialism. Hell, I'm not even sure they'll remember socialism once they get rich and powerful.

they are the biggest socialist country right now, i think it should be their duty to encourage other countries to become socialist. Only country it seems it helped become socialist was korea, and it was basically for their only intrest(from what i read..to make a bigger buffer between use forces and chinese,

Actually, the chineese are communists. It doesn't matter if they are the biggest country or not. Every leftwing country has the duty to support revolutions in other countries. Off course, only the communistic ones... A revolution doesn't have to have good result on the country!

I wouldn't actually say there's much communism left here, the whole economy is being transformed quickly to capitalism

well as the west says China is the "sleeping Dragon"...
íf it is ever woke up and decides to conquer the world then we are big time fucked...
i agree with Cassius.. China cannot simply start a cold war because it isnt even near socialism... it can only start a imperialistic war against either the west or USA...
yet if Dhul is correct then we are certainly doomed... imagine the bigest country of the world (in terms of population ofcourse) with a strong army... it wil be hords and hords of men... and if properly equiped they can surely beat USA... this is if USA doesnt decide to use Nukes... but if they do then China will do it as well wich will only created a nuclear holocaust...

Well, the idea is not to create a conflict. The idea is to put the USA in the place where China is today, having to basically go along with anything it's big brother says to keep the peace and economic ties.
The big brother would then of course be China ;)

if a powerful country puts up a puppet goverment in another country, and one day that powerful country dissolves, usually the puppet country has a revoluation.
Even today their are many puppet goverments, its just stange that china does not support them for change as the soviet union did.(north korea..they sent weopens...china they sent advisors...cuba they kind of protected once it became communist..etc..)
China doesn't have to take over other countries or even fight wars...just support these countries so when revoulation comes, they will be prepared.

China has a strange track record. They usually issue statements against other revolutions, saying they would never directly support revolutions abroad and such, but then sometimes years later they get found out as having sold huge amounts of cheap weapons to all kinds of forces.
They did this all over South-East Asia for example, denying it at the time.

China is also pushing hard-core nationalism last time I checked. They seem to realize Communism isn't going to be the friend of them now, so they seem to have an eye on Nationalism and probubly mixing in some of the Confucious traditions back into the government more strongly.
