It was one of the best films I ever watched, possibly the best film. It was directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu who directed two other excellent movies, 21 Grams and Amores Perros. It sets up in Morocco, San Diego, Mexico and Japan, with one event getting connected with other events in all those different places. Did anyone else see this movie?

I always thought 21 Grams was an Almodovar...and Amores Perros for a while as well
Any more info?

It's a great tragedy , it is worth to be seen ... the title itself speaks for the story ... U know the Tower of Babel is a 1928 woodcut by M. C. Escher. It depicts the Babylonians attempting to build a tower to reach God, a story that is recounted in Genesis 11:9. God frustrated their attempts by creating a confusion of languages so the builders could no longer understand each other and the work halted
In the film you reach this disability of communicating ... the little boy kills by mistake an american citizen but it is immediatly interpreted as "the terrorists in Maroc"...
It is somehow how things are going these days , and it is good to see that in an american movie (that arabs arent terrorists or mexicans aren't terrorists in reality but its how the world sees it in a wrong way ...)

I have to say, as far as Hollywood's award system, this is the year for Mexico and International filmmakers in general. Children of Men, Babel, and Pan's Labyrinth, along with the many awards from those 3 films , have demonstrated some sort of push toward International unity and political perception. Pan's Labyrinth is a Spain/Mexico combo, right? Hollywood, although it can regularly produce some really dumb shit, certainly gets points from me this year.
