Summer is here and Jura has another great event for your political pleasure, next weekend:
Emma Goldman's film night and Jura's 29th anniversary party - 6pm, Sat 25th November
What's doin'?
Next Saturday, we're screening a documentary on the life of Emma Goldman, "one of the most dangerous anarchist in America", according to the then young J. Edgar Hoover. The "Red Emma" was famous for her speeches on matters ranging from reproductive rights to union organising, antimilitarism and drama, participated actively in the campaign to save the Martyrs of Chicago, witnessed the Russian Revolution and the Spanish Revolution, had a string of lovers, and is now considered the pivotal theoretician of what is now called Anarcha-feminism.
After that, we'll be commemorating our 29 years of successful bookselling and organising. Everybody's welcome!

You may also be interested in coming along to a Jura collective meeting and meet us. The next meeting is focussed on strategic directions - Saturday 9th of december from midday.
