What do you mean? Are you asking what is it supposed to mean?

Frank Kozik for the win.
My Peavey Milestone sports one of his orange dunnies in this vein: http://brtn-snow.blogzine.jp/my_life_snowboard/images/burton_12_07_02.jpg

and again (cause my post was deleted) i need to say that this "mao bust" thing is stupid 'cause you shouldn't even be allowed to mock such a great leader as Mao. period.

No, it's not stupid, I apologize if your to obtuse to "get it," or try to understand it, because it acts as a enema image for you, and furthermore Mao was just a man and revolutionary like you or I, an equal, he was not some god, and I and Kozik can mock him in any way we choose, but maybe you like hero worship? Maybe you don't see him as an equal but a god like figure?

Also, him being a "great leader," is highly debatable.

米奇毛.

$200 seems way too much, maybe they're cheaper at the Mao factory. :P

'cause you shouldn't even be allowed to mock such a great leader as Mao
Even if he happened to make mistakes? Of course, if you believe that Mao was an infallible man (a position that even the CCP has dropped) then you can go back to your dogmatic hero worship.

i'm against it ok? i believe noone should be shown like that especially someone i respect for me it's like mocking my grandfather which is unacceptable and finally i have the right to express my opinion

you have the right to express your opinion - thus making it more valid that Cryotank's?

you can't just say something utterly contentious and not expect to get any comments that diverge from your point of view...

i didn't expect everyone to agree with me if that's what you're saying...but if dear Cryotank wanted to make a funny thread he could just post some pictures of Bush as an ape, or Bleur riding a donkey or something like that, corny it might be but funny...and i'm told i have a good sence of humor but i can't see the funny thing in Mao with Mickey Mouse ears

me neither really, but if people get a kick out of it... what's the big deal?

the big deal is that i'm against that while we could do something productive to support our beliefs we're making fun of Mao or Stalin or anyone really, wouldn't you be mad if someone made fun of Che?

It wouldn't be to my taste, but c'mon... these guys are only human

if you start censoring criticism of 'revolutionary leaders' then that could potentially snowball in to censoring a whole host of other things which could eventually lead to no criticism of anything labelled leftist by whoever, thus removing ourselves from criticism and drifting in to kleptocracy or at best some form of socialism that's so far removed from the will of the people it's utterly pointless...

to flip the situation around - say we were to be forbidden from criticising Hitler, Mussolini or Bush... that'd be pretty shit

holding figures to such omnipotent levels does more damage to us than good

It wasn't meant to be funny per se, it was I think maybe more of commentary, or criticism of Mao, more than it was mocking him, however this is purely interpretation, you get what you get out of art, so the real specific meaning of this piece, could mean a variety of things.

Did you even try to think about the piece, or did you just say "hey, mickey mouse ears, and a cigarette,.......on Mao? No, typical propaganda type art? He must be mocking him, and trying to make Mao look like a fool!"

but if dear Cryotank wanted to make a funny thread he could just post some pictures of Bush as an ape, or Bleur riding a donkey or something like that, corny it might be but funny

I wasn't trying to be funny; I was posting an art piece by an Artist I like, who just happened to have a new piece on Mao.

If someone mocks your grandpa, so what?
I'm sure your grandpa has made mistakes, jsut like anyone else.

Besides, if noone respectable was ever mocked, the world would be a pretty fuckin dull place.

On a side note, I'm paating myself for reaching 55 posts=]

my grandpa had fought against the fascists in my country and was sent to exile for 6 years and suffered for many more, he's 92 years old now he's totally blind and he's the person i mostly admire if ANYONE tried to make fun of him i'd simply kill them ok?
