i dont know much about this organization...does anyone else know stuff about them and their role in american politics?

It's just a veterans group, its role in politics is campaigning for pro-veterans stuff and against flag desecration and the such.

Yes, but they don't let you smoke, at least not at the post in my town. Not that I smoke, but loads of people who go to shows do. Luckily we have another venue in some shit town of under 1000 people that lets you smoke. For living in such a rural area, it sure seems like there's a rather active music scene.

Oh well, back on topic. I don't think the American Legion really has all that influence when it comes to elections at the state and national level. They may have some say in municipal and county elections though.
