I can barely tell what's going on in that video. Its almost impossible to tell the Nazis from the police. No pun intended, but LOL nonetheless.

Lots of pro-Police propaganda in that video. Not very fitting for the most gorillas moment in the history of the British left.

Why aren't the police going after the blackshirts instead of the commnists and jews who are against the march

The blackshirts are the BUF - British Union of Fascists. Led by Sir Oswald Mosley. He was a very rich and influencial man - also a gifted speaker. even if he was an arsehole. The march was intended to be a peaceful yet symbolic one through the east end of london. Those of the left, and the jewish community that obviously hated mosley, broke up the march. The police were there to keep the peace. Luckily they had already succeeded in breaking up the march and the police had little effect on keeping the event going. Mosley was banged up in prison shortly after the outbreak of world war two. Someone preaching the same ideas as the leader of the country you're fighting is not going to go down well with the public.

Ubby Cowan (90 this year) helped orchestrate the Battle of Cable Street on October 4th 1936. The event was a mass demonstration to stop Mosley and his Black-shirt fascists from marching through Stepney, East London spreading their message of rascism and hate. This film is a short doc telling Ubby's story.

:)Ne Paserans!!! Respect now as always!!

Funny thing is that they had to fight him and his thugs all over again after the war. Heard an outdoor address by a man who'd been there, at an AFA event in Leeds in the early 90's.
It happened the late 1940's I think and Moseley and his brats were utterly destroyed by a group of ex-British Army Jewish servicemen. They had seen the results of the camps first hand and were angry :cursing: when this asshole started the denial thing as well as attacking Jewish property. To say they kicked Fash butt would be an under statement. :D They used to destroy rallies, everything, using direct action. They gave us a few tips on the day as well!! Called themselves the 1948 group or something. No fash were to be seen in the city centre at all on that day, although it was VERY WELL advertised!! We did take a look, but no, not even one to be seen!!

Never again means never again...

no but a common mistake, it was just the amount of people present at the founding meeting, later they grew to an organisation with over 500 "comando's"
