Despite my issues with both Stalin and the USSR I can't deny that the sight of the Nazi standards being thrown before Lenin's tomb was stirring.
I assume this is film that has been recoloured?

Agreed. As a mere historical artefact, and nothing else, that was really great.

Well they already had colour-televisions in soviet russia by the 1930's... didn't you know?

Perhaps its just the quality then. All other media I've seen of this even has been B&W.

Yes, I've seen the video before... One of the greatest events of the 20th century if you ask me.
Though I've always wondered why Stalin just stands idle on the Lenin Mausoleum while the other party members (Molotov? Malenkov? Voroshilov?) salutes to the crowd and when the anthem is played. I've seen other pictures and video clips of Stalin when he laughs and waves to the crowd at parades, but not in this victory parade. Very strange.

No idea. By the way, who is the man who salutes while at the same time talking to Stalin? Budyonny?

Yeah, It has to be Budyonny. That moustache is unmistakable :P

From left to right: Molotov(?), Budyonny (he appears to be hiding behind Stalin most of the time or something because he only apperars in some scenes), Stalin and Voroshilov(...or maybe Malenkov (??)).
