I am currently reading the book "Red Square at Noon" by Natalia Gorbanevskaya. The book is her personal account of the events of an 8 person protest in red square, demonstrating against soviet imperalism and their invasion of Czechoslavakia.
The book is very good at showing that even when peaceful demostrations were legal, the athorities went to lengths to imprison the participants, even finding two of them insane.
However it doesn't go into details of the Soviet Invasion, nor why the people who ripped their flags and banners said, "we are liberating them."
Does anyone know any more details about these events?
