Dudes , I have been doing a lot of reading lately about two spiritualisms: Buddhism and Native American spirituality.
I have been attracted to both for different reasons. Buddhism talks about peace, love, and respect for everyone and everything. For you Marxists out there, you'll be happy to know that the Dalai Lama calls himself a "half Marxist" I think the words of the Dalai Lama about truth, identity, finding our own way in life and finding peace within us and within the world are good things. While I do not support him or anyone else taking power in Tibet, I do admire much of what he has to say.
Native American spirituality teaches us about the great spirit living inside us and all around us. Basically we dont know everyone. There is no way to. We know very little about the world, about the society, about all the questions around us.
So it's like this dudes, Native Americans were persecuated and killed by white people and Europeans, maybe it's time to go back and give them the respect back. The respect of their spirituality.
By the way, I have no religion personally I just study them. I am agnostic. I dislike the teachings of the three large religions like Christianity, Islam and Jewish as they are violent history and violent ways and i dont like that.
The two I found which has the most truth for us and for the world...is Buddhism and Native American spirituality.
Thoughts are as always, most welcome.

The word is judaeism just for further reference :).
I'm also interested in native american spirituality but because I am an atheist I still think it's all nonsense. The delai llama is an asshole. But the fact he is some sort of god and emperor he cannot be a marxist at all. He also has feudal slaves. So much for him being a marxist.

Dude take that back.
He left Tibet when he was 15, he had control over nothing.
Besides he has now ATTACKED the feudal things and said he didn't agree with them or liked them
He's a very cool dude.

Take nothing back. He's a lord emperor god. You contradict your own views so many times it isn't even funny.

Read what I just said dude.
I mean it.
The Dalai Lama did not control Tibet, he left when he was 15!! That's like nuts!! He attacked the feudalism and said he didnt like it.
Now that he has freedom and is an adult, he stands for peace love and honor.

He is the HEAD of an entire religion. Do you not understand that?
LLama: We are all equal! Except me, I am the re-incarnation of god!

Never mind dude..never mind.
For the record I dont agree with that stuff. I am agnostic. I just respect what the man says.
Peace.
and remember the old chant: "What you do , I won't say! What you do, I won't say! But what you do I've got to say!!!"

You clearly do not understand. If he is so peace and equality why does he still command an entire religion?

I am NOT a Buddhist. I do NOT support the Dalai Lama as some great "leader"
I believe in no leaders, no masters!! Agnostic and Anarchist here.
BUT I think the dude says some good things about peace , love and harmony and the way.
AND I think most people agree with me. :)

He says good things about peace but he cannot exactly be 'half marxist'.

I just went outside and killed 8 toads. I killed them slowly. I paralyzed them and then I stepped on them. One of them had laid eggs in my pond and I smashed them all too.

It is real, all of those cane toads have been executed. Fortunetly it's not up to you. Infact most wildlife help organisations commend me on my awesome toad killing skills because these toads are pests and each toad I kill saves around 14 native animals.

Dali lama is an a**hole if you would read the history of Tibet you would see how they treated the tibetans . Buddhism is stupid and evil like any other religion

That's utter bollocks. Humans are one species, all other animals are - unsurprisingly - of different species. All species of animal do whatever they need to for survival, and in some cases for their own entertianment and this includes harming other animals. Also no animal is sapient, and therefore not really worthwhile.
(See the PETA threads for my full argument on this matter. In which I own irkone.)

I'm more interested in classical buddhism than its more modern manifestations. I read a book by the dali lama once where he talked about buddhism being a kind of atheism, but that only really seems true up through the first few centuries. It has been warped so many times, that now most adherents worship bodhisattvas and have essentially made it into a theistic religion. still, i think it has some merit. the 5 tenets of the religion are:
don't cause unnecessary violence on others (dietary concerns included)
don't do mind altering drugs
don't lie or use speech for negative shit
don't engage in promiscuous sex
respect other people's shit
