Hey,
Although I'd consider myself Socialist in practical terms, I think I'm leaning towards are more radical leftist position ideally. From the little bits and pieces I've picked up Anarcho-Syndicalism seems to be what I believe in. Can anyone recommend any good introductions to this position? There's been a few posts recently about Anarchism which I'll also check out.
Cheers

The anarchist FAQ is going to be your best bet. There's a lot to read, but it is a brilliant resource:

'What types of Anarchism are there?' : http://www.infoshop.org/faq/secA3.html

Have you read the good book lately? Marxists .org has it. It's called state and revolution by V.I Lenin. Give it a read.

Thanks for the responses. I'll give them all a read. ALthough I'm a little dubious about an Lenin writing a book on Anarchism :)

Lenin did not write a book about anarchism, this guy was ignoring your request and trying to get you into leninism. Which I guess in and of itself is understandable if the guy is a hard core leninist but a bit disrespectful of your request and ability to make up you own mind about things.
Anarchist Syndicalism is in my opinion more a movement than an ideology and you would probably learn more about it from reading history, particualrly anything about the anarchist in the spanish revolution.
Argentina around the turn of the 1900's and italy in the 20 were also two places with huge anarcho syndicalist movements.
More recently there is the debate between the CNT and the CGT (spains third largest union), both of which take differnet positions on anarcho syndicalist theory and practice. Thats probably the best modern example of a large AS movement.
The Russian ASers during the revolution were also very influencial in the workers council movement. I like their politics alot.

Yeah, I realise that Leninism is completely different to Anarchism. A contradiction terms, as one might say!
I've actually just finished reading Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell. An excellent book, and also gave an interesting insight to the realities of Communists and Anarchists in Spain, even if it was somewhat biased and nearly 80 years old.
I'll have a look into the CGT and CNT and see what they're ideas are like. Thanks for the info.

Rebelworker is right. You'd probably get a better understanding of anarcho-syndicalism from studying history, since it is more of a movement than a specific ideology.
Also, I second reading State and Revolution. :P
