Anyone heard of this man? He is a very intelligent speaker, published several books and lectures on Philosophy and Philosophy of Religion at Oxford.

If you read any general book on the subject, you will no doubt find quotes from him at some point, and he is one of the biggest critics of Richard Dawkins, who is a great biologist but uses weak arguments when he dabbles in theology.

Anyway, I went to a lecture of his the other day, he talked about miracles, the origin of the universe and the design argument.

Anybody interested in his philosophy?

He sponsors Sunderland FC. He also sells cars. He is a born again christian I think. Nutter in other words. Blair likes him because he has backed financially Academies. A nice way to inflict his religious ideas on youth.

Wrong. Dr Peter Vardy is a theologian, you're thinking of Sir Peter Vardy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Vardy_%28businessman%29).

Wikipedia confirms that they are two distinct individuals. As for my opinions on him, I know little about him. I heard theologan and critic of Dawkins. I know I won't like him.

Dawkins is awful when it comes to debating theology, it's very easy for Vardy to criticise him. Even though I agree that there is no God, it doesn't mean I have to think Dawkins' arguments are well-presented.

We could start a christian-anarchist action group called "ANTIDAR" and have the logo ADA, Anti-Darwinist-Action. Then we could go into the forest and beat up some bear or lion.

Yes, we have to study him for my AS-level philosophy of religion course.

What problems do you have with Dawkin's religious criticisms? You have to realize that he isn't actually arguing with religious people. He thinks arguing gives them a sense of respectability they don't deserve. He is merely doing what he can to stop people from believing falsely.
