i saw a commercial for some discovery channel show about iran and it had some pictures of anti-american murals in iran. they looked really cool, especially one with a statue of liberty with a skeletal face. does anyone have some pictures of these murals?

what do you mean Islamist bullshit? just because they want to express their religion through art on the same page as anti-imperialist propaganda doesn't mean you should disrepect their culture. i don't see anyone here putting down your religion (or lack thereof). i think you need to learn some tolerance. as a believer of Allah i am greatly offended.

Comrade, he said 'islamist' not Islamic, the former is a politicised form of Islam, the latter is the religion and culture.

The pictures in that website link were not good at all, save the two murals on US imperialism (one with the US flag with bombs and the statue of liberty).

The rest of the murals were shite propaganda with pictures of the muderous and corrupt leaders of Iran's oppressive theocracy, not the type of artwork that is in any way progressive or enlightening.

Those murals are not the Iranian people 'expressing' their culture, they are government designed and funded murals which serve as visual propaganda for Iran's oppressive theocracy. They are worthy of scorn.

Please tell that to the Iranian theocracy and it's bigoted leaders. Since when did they show tolerance to communists, workers, trade unioists, gays and lesbians or women???
