In a Communist society who will work these types of jobs?
Wouldn't the individual feel like he can do much more then that?

so my question is who would do these modern day "low" jobs?

I doubt there would be janitors or housekeepers. We could try to make these jobs obsolete through technology, which may be possible since society's technological potential could be redirected towards goals we want instead of the things they are used for now (arms, useless consumer objects, etc). If that failed, then no one would have to take the job unless they really wanted. Who would clean up bathrooms and make beds? Whoever the fuck took a shit in that toilet or slept in that bed. People would just do things for themselves.

As for sanitation workers, Im not an expert but my guess is it involves some level of technical expertise. Society may just choose to give people who do nasty jobs like this more "goodies", consumer commodities and the such to "thank" them for taking on these tasks which others might not want to do.

Criminals could do these types of community services...

Also I think that the youth could do it as an extra curricular activity, especially the older ones...Like a scheme that would go on a CV to say that you did 2 hours month cleaning and so on.

But also, I think technology would ultimately sort this problem out for us.

I think we should pillage the world resource to make millions of robots to wipemy ass....

Peoplewould do these jobs, as CDL stated rotation seems the best and fairest way to get it done, with the added bonus that if people know how this shit works they might be a bit more careful about what they throw out and clean up after themselves.

Dont make prisoners do it, prison system would have to be totally re tuned, comminity orientated rehabilitationpunishment to suit the crime.

We I guess if someone was caught making a big mess theyd haveto do xtra cleanup.

How much technology came out of the former Soviet Union in order to eliminate these types of Jobs. I see technology moving at a very slow pace if there are no rewards for those who have the mental skills to create such technologies

that's because uh... the USSR was an authoritarian state-capitalist?

We're talking a genuine socialist "we-are-moving-towards-communism-and-have-a-workers-coordination-style-state-in-the-meantime-so-we-don't-get-overthrown-by-counterrevolutionries" society here.

I'd be more than happy to volunteer a day a week for any of these jobs.
Think about it. wouldn't you want to defend your revolution and your real freedom and democracy?
we all have to pitch in and help to make it work. so taht we dont have to pay others to do it.

sign me up for community janitorial services! ;) once a week?

Yes comrade but THATS US. Not everyone
feel me? im specifically talking about the majority. You think the majority of people would feel that their "too much" for cleaning.
I personally would'nt mind doing it because again i want revolution just like you said. But we're talking about people(well you get what im trying to say)

and who would make the criminals do these jobs? the state? i thought that was gotten rid of after the socialist phase.

I think a voluntary system is best, and people forget that by the time socialism is over, the majority would be willing to volunteer The rest would go along with it out of herding instinct and social conformity. While socialism is going on it'd be divided between the community, where it could not just be personal responsibility.

Sanitation workers: are we talking like sewage engineers here? it'd be part of being an engineer. If you want the fun of building motorways or *insert communist engineer activity here*, you take on the responsibility to look after the drains. Just as if you want the fun of sitting around studying languages all day, you have to teach, or if you want the fun of curing people of cancer you have to get your hands dirty with pus-y (as in involving lots of nasty pus) infections and *insert doctor dirty work they farm out to nurses*

No TBH the people would make the criminals do the jobs...If a criminal doesn't do his community service, then the people would decide what should be done...
