In the city of Oaxaca
A sleeping army awakens
From the slumber of oppression
The revolution beckons

So-called ordinary people
Standing up for what is right
The democracy of leaders
Takes no heed of their plight

Marching through the city
Occupying the zocaló
Here comes the confrontation
Pigs run to and fro

Power-hungry maniacs
Employ the armoured of the state
Defeated, forced to retreat
By the bare-fisted irate

So this is what, is possible
When the oppressed unite
On just one occasion
Let hear their cry
Of indignation
And take the power back
To where it belongs
And take power back
Into their own hands

A prophet to save them
They did not await
Rose up in rebellion
To decide their own fate

No cop, no soldier sent in
No state intervention
Can stop the spectre
Of freedom’s restitution

Now its time to push further
The whole world is to stand as one
Behind our brothers on the frontline
The fight has just begun!

So this is what, is possible
When the oppressed unite
On just one occasion
Let hear their cry
Of indignation
And take the power back
To where it belongs
And take power back
Into their own hands
Imagine how it could be
The whole world fighting to be free

Its pretty good....I especially like these parts

In the city of Oaxaca
A sleeping army awakens
From the slumber of oppression
The revolution beckons

Power-hungry maniacs
Employ the armoured of the state
Defeated, forced to retreat
By the bare-fisted irate

If u were to add in some music/instrumentals, what would they be?
Would this be a folk song? Some deep mellow poetic stuff? Or would u make into a hiphop joint?

thanks :)

it would probably be folk-y, with an accoustic guitar (cuz thats what i play)
