This article I found seems to affirm many of the things that atheist on this board have brought up against Christianity. The way it is written does seem decently biased, but I find the history interesting none the less. Especially how it compares early Christians (admirably) to anarchist. Although, many may not agree with all this says, it still brings valid points about the early Church. Obviously, with my philisophical trends this text is gnostic.

Umoja, this is a nutball site.

As I recall, there is a respected scholar, Elaine Pagels, who has written a couple of works on the gnostics...but they are nothing like the stuff on the first page of this site--which looks to me like 99% guesswork and 1% history.

The "giveaway" is that it tries to connect a bunch of things that, as far as we know, have no connection with each other.

We humans love to "connect" things...because, for one reason, connections often provide new insights into the nature of reality. But when you find a site that throws everything into the pot including the kitchen sink, be wary.
