How is this discrimination again?
Nevertheless, its pretty ridiculous how they try to brainwash us into following their religious principles and whatnot
And my guess is that they do it out of interest, not out of principle
They realize that to get the support of "the christian right" they have to support the causes and principles that are important to these nutjobs
Because by getting their support, you're getting a good % of the vote and lots of $ from all the wealthy pastors, churches, and congregations

Discrimination against alternative lifestyles (i.e. something other than the marriage + 2.3 kids thing).

i don't get what you mean 'thats a stretch', clearly the fact of encouraging married people to have sex (so they can reproduce) while trying to stop unmarried people from having sex (supposedly out of fear that they might have kids outside of a christian patriarchal family, alternatively because they just don't like sex for recreation) is use of state funds against one demographic group (single people) in favor of another (married heterosexuals) so its discriminatory.

This is soo fucking ridiculous. I mean seriously. You know the majority of the people who proposed this idea were fucking like crazy in college. Just shows how the government spends its money on more "important" matters.

Well yall, thats where the truth comes in.
If youre down with someone you can get married in your own house and not have it be legal but the people who make those advertisements and the government dont tell you thats marriage for a reason... that is why I refer to the legal marriage as being "paper married' because if you beleive in god you can get married infront of god no matter where you are, and if you believe in yourselves you can get married infront of yourselves no matter where you are.
Marriage makes everything financially different.
It makes it easyer for teh government to view you as financially allright by sayingyou have another person in your life.
Its harder to collect foodstamps and such when you are "married".

This is stupid, their wasting more money on this? I now i am from Brition where we have the highest amounts of teenage pregnances in Europe, where as it probably not a good idea to have a baby young - to take action like this is opprasing peoples rights among other things. It has taken one more step forward for all "first" world countries turning into big brother. Unmarried couple haven the right to have sex - wether or not they become pregnant or not, this is kind of turning into catholicism on a big scale - soon a law will come out that everybody has to have unprotected sex and then if yoy do get pregnant get shamed into marriage. I thought marriage was supposed to be about love, well young pregnacies often happen when they are with someone they are not in love with. This is just beyond stupid, it is just wrong as far as i see it.
