Off to Manchester on Friday to see it, Children of Bodom and In Flames in the same gig! :D

Just a pity that Slayer and Lamb Of God have to be there as well.

:D Come on... nobody else is going to see a date on this tour? Nobody likes any of the bands? You disappoint me, revleft.

I would like to have gone, but I am some what short of cash... oh well maybe another time.

I'm thinking about saving my money for this gig: -

The Manchester one obviously.

Which one did you/are you going to, PR?

At least their songs actually sound different (with the possible exception of LoG), Slayer were fucking pathetic :D
I SWEAR IT IS THE SAME RIFF IN EVERY SONG :D Absolutely dire, I am genuinely amazed such a crap band are so successful.

Children of Bodom were good, but their sound wasn't right, rhythm guitar wasn't loud enough and vocals weren't so great in the first track either - too quiet.
I've seen Bodom perform at their own gig, and they were a million times better.

Lamb of God were boring, all the songs sounded very much the same, though I hate the American style of metal anyway.

In Flames were fucking brilliant, the guitars should have been a bit louder and Anders' voice was too quiet in the first song (though he did go and talk to the sound guy) but it picked up amazingly after that. Egonomic, Trigger, Take This Life, Cloud Connected, Only For The Weak etc. all amazing, can't wait to see them again in a few weeks. Plus Anders is a pretty funny guy, like when he dedicated a song to the two guys crowd-surfing to no music - 'true metal attitude' :D

When In Flames finished I went with my friends to get a drink and even though we'd been at the very front for the whole gig, we sat down to watch Slayer because they're absolutely shit. Then we left at about 10.30 to get a bus home, which wasn't bad as I was so bored. And Slayer dedicated a song to 'all the armed services currently serving this country' and they had a big American flag up at the back. It doesn't surprise me they have a song about Joseph Mengele and covered 'Guilty Of Being White'

Seeing it all again in Brixton Academy in a few weeks. EMA certainly comes in handy!

Going to the Dublin gig tomorrow

I don't like metal.

I thought about going to the Glasgow gig but I didn't go. Slayer are the only band I know in the line up, the rest are new to me. Reign in Blood is a musical masterpiece.

Well that's a ridiculous thing to say, though not entirely surprising coming from a typically elitist Slayer fan. ;)

I hope you enjoy listening to some good music tomorrow, Children of Bodom in particular (when they play their older stuff) and if you can genuinely tell me afterwards that Slayer were good, then you have not seen the same Slayer.

Shame there's so many idiots in the world

Stood outside slagging shit metal off while the muck bands were playing (Thine Eyes Bleed, C.O.B), went to the Lamb Of God mosh (they asked who was "from Ulster") then took a rest while In Flames played, they were pretty poor it must be said, then in for the Slayer which was fucking unbelievable.

I'm battered, bruised and got home at 4 o clock in the morning

What do you mean a pity!?!?! Lamb of God rules! They're bloody axe-weilding fiends! Mark Morton and Willie Alder could whip Alexi Lahoe and that other dude from C.o.B. any day on the week. I was going to go but didn't want to have to put up with that garbage from Children of Bodom and Slayer, plus i had no transport.

cmon metal is amazing, not many kinds of music can give you an adrenaline rush just from listening to them. plus it is awesome to play on the guitar, nothing like the sound of a plam muted, open 4th, 5th, and 6th string chord in Drop-C tuning. awww so damn nice

First of all, allow me to offer my sympathies that you are unaware of the meaning of the word 'pity.' Quite simply, I meant just that - it was a pity. Both are boring.

Second, Alexi Laiho is a pretty fucking good guitarist, and he is in fact much better than those in Lamb Of God, which isn't even disputable, regardless of which band you prefer.
Also, Roope Latvala ('that other dude') is perhaps the greatest guitarist in Europe, and it's a shame he's only on rhythm, as he is fantastic. He can play so many different styles at a perfect level, and he's inspired so many guitarists to learn to play (including Alexi Laiho, funnily enough)

I know you're likely to retort with something as pathetic and childish as your previous post, and say "OMGz Alexi is teh suXors" but seriously consider what you're saying... Alexi Laiho is amazing at the style he plays, though when you learn the scales and have several years practice, it isn't too difficult to play, but it's much harder and more technical than anything Lamb of God have produced, especially when they've taken a leaf from Slayer's book and use the same riff in every song with another few notes here and there.

You clearly know nothing about Roope Latvala and how fantastic he is (and I don't neccesarily mean when he is in CoB, I mean in general.)

However, I do agree with you that metal is amazing. Well, some of it, some of it is shit as well.
