It's been announced that Charles Windsor wants to be King of Faiths after his mother pops her clogs. To this end, he wants to have not one but TWO coronations! One for the old fogies in the C of E - and the other for the rest of the superstitious. This is the latest in his campaign to be considered Defender of Faiths.

We at Class War find this both laughable and peculiar. Why laughable? Because he's a fucking muppet - and the chances of any Muslim, Jew, Catholic or Jedi taking his liberal can't-we-all-be-friends whining seriously are zero. And it's peculiar because his ancestor, Henry VIII, was given the title of Defender of the Faith by the Pope, for 'writing' a book against Protestantism. For him to try now to turn this purloined title into some rainbow alliance coalition of the unwilling to face the real world is strange - but not untypical of the man.

On the bright side, two coronations means twice the opportunity to cause mayhem upon Liz Windsor's hopefully rapid demise.

Funny, I could've sworn he gave himself that title after he burned the Catholics out of mainstream religion in England. But well.

It's nice of the future King to try and get over the silly religious divisions in this country, but I think he's going about it in entirely the wrong way, by declaring himself as 'defender of faiths' he is alienating his primary supporters - your old fashioned High Tories and Royalists, who don't care one jot for foreign religions. It's the right idea, trying to patch up this idiot multi-religion society that labour government has inflicted on us, but doing it through such a huge gesture would probably just weaken him.

I'd love to see a bunch of 'class war' types take on (they'll probably be there); the Grenadier Guards, the Household Cavalry, and probably 90% of the metropolitan police. It really would be amusing to watch them try to interrupt his coronation.
