I know the Communists here generally avoid such partisan disputes and despise the Republicans and Democrats equally. And, from what I know, I'm sure a fair amount here would openly say, "Fuck the troops! Fuck the military!" and so on.
However, for anyone else, you might find this interesting.
Overall, the Democrats support veterans' benefits more so than the Republicans, according to Disabled American Veterans (DAV):

Those aren't just arbitrary "yes," votes tabulated, but are a score-card, generated by the DAV, calculating the number of times that Congressmen make votes they agree with.
You can see a scorecard for any given Congress (House or Senate) here:

The only ones to support veterans consistently, 100% of the time, have been Democrats. And they tend to vote in ways more supportive of veterans than the Republicans. So, the Republicans, "support the troops," rhetoric is a sham.
And Bush's publicly-funded campaign "America Supports You," (http://americasupportsyou.mil/) is both hypocritical and illegal, because he's using taxes to support pro-war propaganda.
