Some friends of mine saw some members of GWAR once in the street while they were on tour and sparked up a conversation, ended up getting free tickets!

Thats the thing about GWAR, the only completely badass album they've ever produced was Scumdogs of the Universe, but all albums after that had their highlights. So for me anyways theres never a totally bad album which could be said about so many other Metal or punk groups.

Destroyed is my favourate track off Beyond Hell, I love the Pigs is pretty cool too.

Liking (or not liking) a specific band determines whether you have a 'good metal taste?'

So even if this guy likes every piss-poor band ever made, the fact he doesn't like CoF means he has good metal taste? And anyone who likes CoF, regardless of any other bands they like, has bad metal taste?

I'm sure it's quite tempting for you to simply put 'yes' and pretend that would make sense, but perhaps you would care to elaborate further?

Personally, I like CoF, I have seen them several times, and will do again this year, but it doesn't mean they are the only band I like, I like all sorts of stuff, though most are local bands people wouldn't have heard of.

Cradle Of filth are quite popmetal imo, the "agressiveness" seems forced and they are more interested in appearence as I see it. But that has of course been the case with many metal bands over the years.
Anyway gimme Carcass anyday, now that's metal!

I don't mean this offensively, but I honestly don't give a fuck.

"Oh I can't like *band*, they're *genre*" - I hate that attitude.

Whether CoF are classed as metal, popmetal, bhangra or rap, I honestly don't give a toss, I like them anyway.

Same applies to any other band I like - CoB, Deicide, Norther, Dying Fetus, Puscifer, Dimmu Borgir, (Old) Satyricon, Marduk etc... I'm not at all interested what ridiculous genre they are assigned to, whether they pioneered one, or whether they just about fit into one. All I know is I love the music.

i love downloading metallica songs. they're the only band that actually make me WANT to download their music, no matter how weak and shitty it is.

a few days ago, i passed number 3000. right now, i have 3017 songs on my winamp playlist. most of them are from the internet (probably around 2/3 of them).

Metallica is more talented.

GWAR is pretty damn awesome, great shows and music. but as a guitar player i gotta say that metallica could totally hand GWAR their giant asses on a platter. i don't like metallica very much, but i gotta say those dudes could sure shred like mad. oh and Lamb of God rules. Beats Children of Bodom or any other newer metal groups by a long shot, only other group that comes anywhere close is Black Label Society, that Zakk Wylde is insane on the guitar, he could take three notes and turn it into a solo that could make a stone crack.

Willie Alder and Mark Morton could whip Alexi Lahoe and the dudes from GWAR anytime, anywhere where it comes to shred time.

children of bodom is badass.

lamb of god and children of bodom came out around the same time - both in the early nineties.

what's more... children of bodom and lamb of god are 2 different styles of metal, so comparing them is almost as pointless as comparing metallica and gwar.
