Tell her that the entire point of taking art class is to learn how to express yourself. Tell her that, seeing as a hammer and sickle or Anarchy A do no harm to anyone, she has no right telling you not to draw/paint them.

Paint them and then if she gives you a bad grade solely based on the use of the symbols, go complain to the principal and the school board.

Get yourself some good quotes from your art teacher (something like "Sieg Heil! No vone vill be traving ANY libertarian symbols in dis class, you hear?") Then find some other students who ar like minded or convince som others (prefferably non-communist/anarchist) and tell them that their freedoms are at stake and that you live in a free country and that you are allowed to express yourself and that whos next, you? Then with these other students go to your principal or head person and tell them about the situation. If it still doesent change anything express yourself out of class using posters that say things like "Art teachers ban civil liberties!" then in smaller print "School on the road to Fascism?", ommitting of course any political imagery.

Start a Socialist revolution inside your art class. Take hostages.

Paint a "regular" picture and hide symbols all around it.

Aunty christ I've done that before, I've got a man raking some leaves and in the leaves is a hammer and sickle.

yeah, try hiding the symbols or just use other ones, like the star with an A in it, the squatter symbol, feminist logos, or just paint anarchist/communist paintings without the hammer n sickle or the :A:
if that doesn't work, go with the above given advice of standing up for your rights

What if you paint a huge Swastika, is that allowed? Paint one and put your teacher's name under it or the schools, say its meant to show how your art teacher is a fascist motherfucker who suppresses political expression.

Try and beat them at their own game:
Repeat "First Amendment" over and over.

That ***** aint shit.
Any time a teacher ever tried to tell me some shit in public Id put the struggle on them.
Everyone would hear. Id tell her trick ass what the sickle and hammer meant to my life.
Id tell her no food stamp or free fucking cardboard tasting lunch program is going to compensate my family from dignity. And Id put some knowlege on her.
She is nothing but a fool to be used for your propogation of communism and socialism as is anyone who contradicts you like they some big shit.
We explain shit to people, but the minute someone wants to antagonise the conscious, then knowing you probably wont change their mind use the conversation to propagate your views to the bystanders. Try to be respectful but be firm and convicted cause you believe in real shit and their on some ingornace.
If someone has it that good in life to talk some shit dont worry about freeing her mind. She fucked up stepping it to a communist in school...now what you got to do next time you get some shit for your use of the first ammendment is put it out there on her...infront of everyone.
"why do yoyu have a problem with working peoples determination?! Are you ritch yourself? I dont apreciate your disrespect of my opinion. This symbol means alot to me, it means determination of THE PEOPLE whos labor has made the world what it is. "
I would go on and on on her ass....
"why is 90 percent of the world poor. Dont you apreciate having shoes and coffee and medicine? These symbols despite what despotic leaders have tried to maket the into, the unity of working people to be respected? Do you call the fact that most of the worlds people are living in ghetto conditions respect?! They make everything you have! "

Put the images in your artwork, without it being obvious.

tell her you're not drawing the A or the :hammer: and just draw a Giant bold Swastika to be controversial. I'd love to see her face.
But seriously, why don't you just draw them anyway?
She might be objecting to you painting them, as they are unoriginal, and painfully simple. You might not pass with it. Not everything you draw has to be political, and your teacher might be trying to stop you turning all your art projects into political statements. But if she is simply objecting to the use of socialist symbolism in your artwork, on political grounds, despite it being entirely relevent and tasteful, tell her where to stick it.
My art teacher used to say she didn't like some of my design ideas, if I cared I might take another look and change it. If I disagreed I'd keep doing what I wanted to do. Art is a very personal thing, draw what you want to draw.

That soiunds about right. I think thats a problem lots of lpoltically nclined artists have: how not to get caught up making propaganda all the time. Ill agree that drawing bg As and hammers and sickles is not the best artistic choice. I mean a lot can be said for these symbols, but hteyre really uite dull.
At any rate, consider the basic nature of art: it is not to tell people what to see or what to think. Art is not propaganda, it is art. What art is for is to show people, adnd if they wish to see, they will. If not they wount and thats a pity. Why not paint people starving somewhere, or the contast between rich and poor and let people draw their own conclusions.

Who gives a fuck what you do in class. She's there to teach you technique. Stop *****ing and making trouble and learn. Do your own shit outside of class. Learn how to use their tools and then use it against them. Quit wasting your time. Art classes at that level teach you the techniques of art not art and how to make art, or why we make art. Throw some symbols into it after she's graded it and hang it on your wall, or post pictures of it. You're not making art for your art teacher are you? Your making it for your audience. Take it as far as you can in class and add your shit later. Shit like this is not worth failing a class for.

The first amentdment is free speech
And you're allowed to have free speech, it's in the law
If I were you
I'd spread the word through the school, and draw the hammer and sickle, because no-one is allowed to take your freedom of speech away from you, and that includes suburban art teachers.
