Hola,

Following The Birmy's hosting of a neo-Nazi gig on September 23rd, and a
subsequent case of racial abuse on the same night, a protest has been
called for outside of The Birmy at 1pm, Saturday, October 28th. Please
consider coming, and please consider bringing a friend or three. The
more, the merrier!

Let's make some fucking noise!

For details on The Birmy (Cnr. Johnston & Smith Sts, Fitzroy, 9417 2706)
and neo-Nazism, please see:

Local boneheads celebrate the death of their leader tonight in Collingwood.

In a return to an earlier tradition, tonights Ian Stuart is Dead celebration co-sponsored by the neo-Nazi Blood & Honour Australia and Southern Cross Hammerskins is being held at The Birmingham Hotel.

Location :

The Birmingham Hotel
Cnr Johnston and Smith Streets
(333 Smith Street)
Collingwood

Phone 9417 2706

Performing :

Bail Up! (Melbourne) | Blood Red Eagle (Newcastle) | Ultraviolence (?)

This is not the first time that such gigs have been held at The Birmy: the pub in question and its fascist-sympathising proprietor having previously enjoyed allowing the neo-Nazi Blood & Honour to hold organising meetings in its cosy surrounds.

In a nutshell, then, The Birmy is a fascist pub.

Interestingly, the pub also enjoys the patronage of local punks, who in the past have vociferously defended The Birmy as being one of supposedly few local venues willing to book punk gigs

"The Birmingham, or as regulars like to call it, The Birmy, is a great place to kick back and relax with the likes of the Melbourne alternative [sic/k] scene [read: violent neo-Nazi fucking skinheads]. With a free function room, Melbournes local punk bands are often seen playing here. Its a relaxing night at The Birmy but be prepared for a crowd which is a little different."

And tonight, be prepared for a crowd which is [more than] a little different: neo-Nazi fucking scum. For just four months ago, one of their Belgian comrades shot a (black) woman and a (white) baby to death on the streets of Antwerp.

And now Blood & Honour Australia and the Southern Cross Hammerskins have decided to proudly present a gig to mourn the death of their (other) Fhrer smack-bang in the middle of multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-racial, cosmopolitan Melbourne.

Youd have to wonder if they werent deliberately taking the piss.

Where's an accidental bar fire and a lack of fire exits when you need them.

Not unless i'm armed/or i think i can take em', and don't usually carry anything bigger than a pocket-knife.

But when i see a group of boneheads whose arms or legs weigh more than i do (even if it is flab!) i cross the street, like the group of 'White Knights' i saw in the city a few months ago, yikes. I'm not a big guy, but i'm plucky and a MMA fan haha, so it's keylocks and guillotine chokes hehe, then again, i'm not very strong (and im a MMA fan, not actually trained :P ) so applying submissions is easier said than done, coz of amateur technique, and well, coz a lot of people are stronger than me :P

But i'm plucky!!!
