I've heard that in Cuba certain technical books are reserved for Cubans, and not available to tourists... books whose prices are kept low in order to remain accessible to Cubans.
This is all I know about books in Cuba. I wouldn't expect this to be applicable to books found in museum shops, though.

I was in Havana a few days ago, and I looked at the books. There is a very big book market in La Plaza De Armas in Old Havana, which is an easy enough place to find. There you will find books on Che, books by Che, stuff about the CIA, books on Castro, a few Noam Chomsky books, books by Rosa Luxembourg, Cuban History, stuff by Lenin and Marx, and stuff along those lines. However, most of the books are in Spanish, though I did see some English books as well.
As for the Museo De La Revolucion, it had quite a small collection of books, mostly about Che Guevara, though some go into specific detail about a part of his life (for example there was a book about his relationship with the CIA). There are also books on Castro, Lenin, Marx, and by them as well, and several books on Cuban history, dating back from the early tribal days to the revolution, the cold war and the 'Special Period' as it is known in Cuba.
I also saw a book about Louise Michel, one about Sacco and Vanzetti, some about Rosa Luxembourg and Albert Einstein and one about Antonio Gramsci.
Still, as with the books in La Plaza De Armas (apparently the oldest square in Havana) - they are mostly in Spanish.
There are books on the right hand side as you go in, in a little corner where there is a sort of souvenir shop, and there are more upstairs in a little souvenir shop at the end of the museum route.
Some images of La Plaza De Armas:

ye what i noticed is that in the shops for tourists, so where you pay in CUC's they mostly sell the books from ocean press (the books hat are english), so books by Fidel, Che, Noam Chomsky, etc. etc. basically the ocean press catalogue concerning latin america.
I did see public libraries so I guess that that is where the people get their books. Plus i also read that certain books are/ were given by the state for free (the bolivian diary of Che for example)
