This is an extraordinary story - and shows the agenda setting of the media
and conivance with government. This is more shocking than any of the
blarney we have heard about shadowy Islamic terrorism recently - and yet
never made it to a major paper

The bomb factory you won't hear about posted by bat020 Police officers
raided a home in Lancashire on Monday night and uncovered a huge cache
of chemicals used to make explosives. Officers say it is the largest
haul of such chemicals ever found in this country. One man has already
appeared in front of Burnley magistrates charged under the Explosives
Substances Act 1883. Another man has also been charged after a raid on
his house uncovered rocket launcher and a nuclear biological suit.
You'd have thought this would be national front page news, wouldn't you?
After all the hype, at last we have solid evidence of terrorists
attempting to perpetrate a murderous outrage on the population -
prosecutors say the pair had "some kind of master plan".
Except, of course, that the men charged are not Asian Islamists, but
white fascists. Robert Cottage, who has been charged for the explosives
haul, stood for the BNP in Colne at the last elections. More details

A terror raid that doesn't make the headlines - despite chemical
explosives and a rocket launcher
Charlie Kimber
Here's a police seizure of weapons that wasn't splashed all over the
front pages.
This week a British National Party election candidate has been accused
of possessing the largest amount of chemical explosives of its type ever
found in the country. That's right, the largest ever - imagine if he'd
been an Asian man. Home secretary John Reid would have held a special
press conference and it would have led every news bulletin.
The home of another man charged with similar offences contained a rocket
launcher and a nuclear biological suit as well as BNP literature and
chemicals!
Robert Cottage of Talbot Street, Colne, and David Bolus Jackson of Trent
Road, Nelson, made separate appearances in court charged with being in
possession of an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose.
Cottage was arrested at his home on Thursday of last week, while retired
dentist Jackson was arrested in the Lancaster area on Friday.
The 22 chemical components recovered by police are believed to be the
largest haul ever found at a house in this country. Cottage stood as a
BNP candidate in the Pendle council elections in May.
Christiana Buchanan, who appeared for the prosecution in Jackson's case,
alleged the pair had "some kind of masterplan".

Ex-BNP man faces explosives charge
By Andrew Hewitt
A FORMER British National Party member has been accused of possessing
the largest amount of chemical explosives of its type ever found in the
country.
Robert Cottage, 49, of Talbot Street, Colne, appeared before Burnley
magistrates charged with possession of an explosive substance.
Cottage was charged under the Explosives Substances Act 1883 on Monday
night after forensic experts searched his home, allegedly discovering
chemical components which could be used to make explosives.
Police sealed off Cottage's home last Thursday and finished their search
at the weekend.
Officers claim that their find is the largest haul of chemicals of its
kind discovered in someone's home in the country.
However, the exact nature of the chemicals has not been revealed.
David Leach, representing Cottage made no application for bail.
Magistrates remanded Cottage in custody and referred his case to Burnley
Crown Court where he is due to appear later this month.
Cottage, a sub-contracted driver for Lancashire County Council, stood
for the BNP in the May elections in the Vivary Bridge ward of Colne.
l Police were yesterday searching a house in Trent Road, Nelson, where a
62-year-old-man was arrested in connection with the investigation.
He was last night being quizzed by detectives.

Chemicals Find: Two In Court
TWO Pendle men have appeared before Pennine magistrates accused of
having "a master plan" after what is believed to be a record haul of
chemicals used in making home-made bombs was found in Colne.
Robert Cottage (49), of Talbot Street, Colne, and David Bolus Jackson
(62), of Trent Road, Nelson, made separate appearances before the court
charged with being in possession of an explosive substance for an
unlawful purpose. The offences are under the Explosive Substances Act
1883.
Both men were remanded in custody to appear at Burnley Crown Court on
October 23rd. Cottage was arrested at his home on Thursday, while
retired dentist Jackson was arrested in the Lancaster area on Friday,
the same day as he left a dental practice in Grange-over-Sands.
The 22 chemical components recovered by police are believed to be the
largest haul ever found at a house in this country.
Cottage is an ex-BNP member who stood as a candidate in the Pendle
Council elections in May.
Mrs Christiana Buchanan, who appeared for the prosecution in Jackson's
case, alleged the pair had "some kind of masterplan".
She said a search of Jackson's home had uncovered rocket launchers,
chemicals, BNP literature and a nuclear biological suit.
Police raided Cottage's Talbot Street home on Thursday of last week. The
house was taped off while forensics officers searched the premises.
Neighbours were told to stay in their homes for their own safety. Mr
Cottage's car was also taken away for examination.
Officers also made a thorough examination of Jackson's Trent Road home
and, again, officers were on duty outside the house. Forensics officers
examined the property.
